Open Food Standard was born out of a personal frustration that began when I became a dad. As a new parent, I wanted to make sure I was giving my daughter the safest, healthiest food possible! I quickly realized how confusing and opaque food labels had become. You practically need to be a chemist to understand the long, scientific-sounding ingredient lists, and trying to research unfamiliar additives while juggling work and family life was nearly impossible.
That’s why I founded Open Food Standard, to make food labels, stress-free for parents and consumers alike. Open Food Standard mission is to empower people with clear, accurate, and actionable information about the food they buy.
Our first product, Label Heart, helps take the guesswork out of food labels. It instantly flags ingredients that are banned in other countries, linked to cancer, or considered unhealthy, so families can make informed decisions without spending hours researching.
At Open Food Standard, we believe that everyone deserves to know what’s in their food without needing a science degree to figure it out. We’re here to bring clarity to grocery shopping, making it easier for you to choose safe, healthy options for your family with confidence.
